Life can sometimes get in the way of keeping up with old friends, or if you’re a blogger maybe you miss a week, or even, say you’re a travel safety guy who needs to travel for work and has completely forgotten to renew your passport that’s about to expire. #AskingForAFriend
Passport expires in T-Minus…
Welcome to my passport renewal confession!
(If you’re just joining us, feel free to go back and read the first post in this series.)
Let’s take a look at what’s happened so far:
- It’s April.
- I’ve known since November that I needed to renew my passport.
- My passport will expire in June. (See countdown timer above).
However!
Progress has been made! I have filled out the application, which did not take that long – if you are new to the passport application process, I have documented the whole, ten-minute process on our YouTube channel, feel free to follow along!
And now we wait…
16 April, 2018: The official date that the paperwork was sent. I was told by the State Dept travel reps that this process could take 6-8 weeks due to a major backlog of people renewing their passports last year flowing into this year.
We shall see – start your stopwatches!
